Gender and Sexuality Centre Providing a safe area for GLBTIQ identifying students and staff on campus to hang out, access resources, or relax, QueerSpace is located on level two of the Campus Hub Building.
If you are a GLBTIQ identifying and/or supporting student or staff member on campus, feel free to drop in at the QueerSpace: Gender and Sexuality Centre!
The Space also contains resources and information regarding social, legal, political and health issues that are relevant to and affect the GLBTIQ community. The centre offers an opportunity to rest, reflect, socialise, study and obtain peer support. The Ally Network The Ally Network provides visible support to the GLBTI community at Macquarie and helps raise awareness among the broader community. Allies are volunteer staff and students who work and study in all areas of the campus. Allies help build a safe and friendly environment and ensure tha t people get accurate information about GLBTI issues. There are almost 100 Allies at Macquarie and all agree to combat homophobia if they witness it on campus. The MQ Ally Network is coordinated through the Equity and Diversity Unit (Social Inclusion).
